Max had gotten under his skin. Made him question his orders. Made him disobey.

Alec... no, 494 wasn't used to not being in control of the situation – any situation – to think that Max could take charge enough to make him doubt himself? Well that just didn't sit well at all.

They thought they had him trapped, vulnerable. But he was in control.

The light faded in Logan's eyes and Alec knew he saw the truth in the darkness.
